Lifestyle & Diabetes Education
01
Diet/Nutrition Management
Healthwell Dietary Principles involve: Carbohydrate management, meal consistency, healthy fats, lean proteins, and staying hydrated.
Our practical meal planning involves the plate method: half plate non-starchy vegetables and small portion of fresh fruits. A quarter plate of healthy carbohydrates or whole grains rich in fiber and a quarter plate of lean protein sources.
02
Exercise Therapy
Healthwell recommended physical therapy includes: Aerobic exercise (at least 150 minutes weekly), moderate-to-vigorous-intensity, resistance training, and break up sitting.
Participants are required, for safety, to check blood sugar, carry fast sugar (juice or glucose tablets), stay hydrated, engage in foot care, and talk to our medical or clinical team members.
03
